Employed at CSN since 1985, Antonio Munuera obtained the master degree on "Physics" (main field of study: Electronic) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) in 1975. He has also received formal training and practice as a Senior Reactor Operator became operators´ instructor during his staying in the Spanish training center.

He has more than 28 years of experience in nuclear engineering and safety analysis. Until year 2000 he was Head of the Nuclear Systems Licensing Division of the Engineering Deputy Directorate of the CSN, dealing with safety analysis of the nuclear and safeguards systems, analysis of containment performance during DBA and emergency operating procedures and severe accidents. At the end of 2000 he became Deputy Director for Engineering and responsible for the safety assessments and inspections of Spanish installations (nuclear and radioactive) in a broad range of regulatory activities in the areas of design, construction, operation and decommissioning of installations. Married, two children.
