Lars Skånberg has more than 25 years of experience in field of nuclear safety regulation, research, assessment and inspection. Beginning his career at the Swedish Plant Inspectorate as analyst/inspection engineer with focus on inspection and testing of pressurized and other safety related components in nuclear power plants. Worked as analyst, project manager and section head in different positions at the Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate between 1983 and 2008. He is now head of the Section for Reactor Technology and Structural Integrity at the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, which was established 1 July 2008 by merging Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate and Swedish Radiation Institute.
Lars Skånberg has acted as chairman of task forces for the former European Nuclear Regulators Working Group (NRWG), is active in the OECD/CSNI Working Group on Integrity and Ageing (IAGE) and the consultative committee for research and training programme (Euroatom) in the field of nuclear energy (Fisson)
