With a view to promoting the formation of a European scientific and technical network in the field of nuclear safety, the EUROSAFE Association has the following objectives:

  • • to form a suitable forum for exchanges on analyses and R&D in
the field of nuclear safety,to share experiences, and to
      exchange technical and scientific opinions,

      safety practices in Europe,
  • • to further the definition and the implementation of nuclear safety
      research  programmes.

The partners are aware that a high level of nuclear safety and radiation protection is a priority for the countries of Europe; they

  • • recognise the reinforcement of the European dimension
in the technical, economical and societal challenges which
      nuclear safety has to face,
  • • take note that nuclear safety expertise plays a major role in
contributing to the attainment and maintenance of a
high level of nuclear safety and radiation protection,
  • • acknowledge that the organisations competent in nuclear
safety expertise develop appropriate approaches to
safety issues as part of their assessments and research activities,
  • • recognise the need for increased co-operation and reinforced
sharing of experience between organisations competent
      in nuclear safety expertise.
