Rob Jansen was born in 1960. He is married and has two children and lives in the small town Goes in the Province Zeeland, the Netherlands.
 
After the master degree in Applied Physics at the University of Groningen in 1987 and accomplishing the military service in 1988 he started his nuclear career at the only commercial NPP in the Netherlands NPP Borssele.
 
At the NPP he had several staff and middle management positions. He started in the area of reactor physics, fuel and core design and fuel fabrication till 1993. After that he was department head of radiation protection, chemistry and reactorphysics until 1998.
 
From 1998 till 2001 Rob Jansen was senior project manager and amongst others he did feasability studies in the areas of fuel management, increasing of the reactorpower, project manager of the perdiodic safety review.
 
From 2001 till today he is working for the Dutch nuclear safety authority (VROM-Inspectorate/KFD) as member of the management team. His responsibilities are the supervision of the NPP Borssele, the research reactors and the radioactive waste storage in the Netherlands.
