Eurosafe NEWS

Dear readers,

In this December Edition of the Newsletter we are happy to inform you that,

... after many years of effort the TSO in the Czech republic found its mother organisation - State Institute of Radiation Protection.

... the big structural  EU project  SUSEN was successfully concluded in 2017.

... we performed safety assessment of two experimental loops with helium (HTHL) and supercritical water parameters (SCWL).

... we continued to assess deep geological repository from the safety point of view.

We wish you a pleasant reading, Merry Christmas and a successful year 2018!

The EU SUSEN project was successfully completed

In December 2011 Research Centre Rez (RCR), with the support of the Ministry of Education,Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, received approval  for the realisation of the big structural EU project „Sustainable Energy (SUSEN)“,funded by aproximately 100 mio. Euro with 85% of EU participation.

High temperature helium loop (HTHL) safety assessment

HTHL test facility is designed for the material testing under the simulation of Gas-cooled Fast Reactor (GFR) and/or Very High Temperature Reactor (VHTR) operational conditions.

The SuperCritical Water Loop (SCWL)

The SCWL (SuperCritical Water Loop) was designed by CVŘ under the framework of SUSEN project. The main goals are to study nuclear cladding materials and neutron irradiation in supercritical conditions.

Geological repository

Within SUSEN project a large infrastructure has been developed to support necessary research in the field of nuclear energy.
