27th International Conference Nuclear Energy for New Europe – NENE2018

Around two hundred participants from more than 20 countries are expected to attend the conference in its 27th edition, which will be held in a beautiful Slovenia’s town Portorož located at the coat of the Adriatic sea from September 10 to 13, 2018.

The annual conference of the Nuclear Society of Slovenia is an international gathering of professionals dealing with different aspects of nuclear energy from all around Europe and worldwide. The primary objective of the meeting is to foster international cooperation amongst professionals active in different nuclear stakeholders, including for example research and educational institutions, nuclear vendors, utilities and regulatory bodies.

Broad range of nuclear flavored topics will be covered during the conference including but not limited to Thermal-hydraulics, Materials, integrity and plant life management, Severe accidents, Probabilistic safety assessment, Reactor physics, Multiphysics, Radiation and environmental protection, Nuclear power plant operation, Regulatory issues and legislation, Sustainability, Education, Training, Public relations, and Nuclear fusion.

The conference tradition will be followed with the young authors contest, as well as with the best poster contest.

Two important side events are planned and will be open to all participants of the 2018 conference:

  • A workshop on neutron and gamma transport, sensitivity and uncertainty codes, Monday, Sept. 10 from 8.30 to 15.30; and
  • The ENEN Ph. D. competition, featuring the presentation of the 10 finalists of the annual competition of Ph. D. students of ENEN members
