Dear Reader,

Welcome to the June 2018 Edition of the EUROSAFE FORUM Newsletter, which has been prepared primarily by the staff of the Jožef Stefan Institute and the ENEN Association. This gives all of us an excellent opportunity to share the news about the recent research and educational efforts related to nuclear engineering and safety and about some forthcoming events of possible interest for the readers.

SARENA: The first ERASMUS+ nuclear education program

The two year Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering, SARENA (SAfe and REliable Nuclear Applications), aims to develop scientific, technical and management skills enabling engineers to work in all domains related to nuclear energy and applications. A strong international culture will be added based on the students from all around the world joining the program.


The Federal Atomic Law amended in Russia

The Federal Law No. 118-FZ dated of May 23, 2018 “On amendments to the Article 26 of the Federal Law “On the Use of Atomic Energy” and recognition of the individual provisions of the Russian Federation legislative acts to become ineffective” came into force in Russia.


ANNETTE project: Advanced Networking for Nuclear Education and Training and Transfer of Expertise

The present situation of nuclear energy in Europe asks for a continuing effort in the field of Education and Training (E&T) aimed to assure qualified workforce in the next decades.


The software implementation of the method for assessment the level of nuclear and radiological events in the INES

The software for assessment the level of nuclear and radiological events in the INES was developed in SEC NRS (the Russian TSO) for the purpose of providing technical and scientific support to the Information and Analytical Center of Rostechnadzor (the Russian regulatory authority).


Project "Analysis to Support Implementation in Practice of Articles 8a-8c of Directive 2014/87/Euratom"

This project has been commissioned to ETSON by the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission. The main goal of the project is to provide an overview of the technical implementation of the nuclear safety requirements introduced by the Directive 2014/87/Euratom in the EU member states.


IAEA TSO Conference

Mobility grants for young nuclear professionals

ENEN (the European Nuclear Education Network) provides mobility grants for learners, who would like to improve their knowledge, skills and competitiveness for career opportunities in the nuclear fields.


27th International Conference Nuclear Energy for New Europe – NENE2018

Around two hundred participants from more than 20 countries are expected to attend the conference in its 27th edition, which will be held in a beautiful Slovenia’s town Portorož located at the coat of the Adriatic sea from September 10 to 13, 2018.
