SIMULATING REACTOR FUNCTIONING DURING INCIDENT AND ACCIDENT (SOFIA) A NEW TRAINING COURSE PROPOSED BY ENSTTI

As a professional from a nuclear regulatory authority, a technical safety organization, or other, you wish to acquire general knowledge on the operational physics and safety of pressurized water reactors (PWR) under normal and accident conditions.

ENSTTI is a professional training and tutoring institute for the transfer of knowledge and expertise from the European nuclear safety organizations. The Institute is offering a training course in Paris to help develop skills in PWR Nuclear Safety.

5-days Training Course. Next session: 13 - 17 May 2019
From the professional viewpoint, the course will help you to:
-
Understand the practical aspects of the physical phenomena that occur in a PWR.
- Acquire a global view of the main nuclear-island systems and of operational safety procedures under accident conditions (LOCA, SGTR).
- Describe the main steps in normal operational procedures as a function of the plant unit’s main automatic controls, from cold shutdown state to full power operation.
- Assess situations that can lead to severe accidents.

Teaching methods:
- Lectures, discussion and practical sessions.
- Working group exercises and technical visits, supervised by experienced TSO experts.
