Jean-Christophe Niel (IRSN) and Brian Holian (U. S. NRC)

Dear Readers,

IRSN is placing emphasis on cooperation for emergency preparedness and incident response, working with the ETSON partners and with counterparts within the EU and beyond. This was well demonstrated by the recent memorandum of cooperation signed in March with the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response under the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission at its annual Regulatory Information Conference.

Availability of results from the first CIP test run in the CABRI experimental reactor in a water loop configuration

The aim of IRSN's CABRI International Program (CIP) is to use experiments to improve our knowledge of the behavior of fuel rods in pressurized water reactors (PWRs) during a power transient accident. The results of the first CIPQ test, which was performed on April 16, 2018 at the renovated CABRI facility equipped with a pressurized water loop, have been analyzed and the corresponding report is ready to be sent to the program partners.

ENSTTI’s training catalogue 2019/20 is available!

It is ENSTTI’s goal to provide initial training and on-the-job qualification programs that will ensure that the staff at the Nuclear Regulatory Authority and Technical Safety Organizations or professionals involved in licensing procedures are able to maintain the level of skills and knowledge required to fulfil their duties, and that they have the possibility to prepare in time to take on new tasks or promotions.

The updated ENSTTI training catalogue 2019-2020 is now available on the Institute’s website with detailed description of courses and all practical information needed to apply for a training course delivered by ENSTTI.

The ENSTTI training catalogue also provides details on the funding of training by partners, notably under the EC/INSC T&T project or the IAEA TC program.

Our training and tutoring programs are delivered exclusively by senior professionals from European TSOs who factor the latest technical developments into their lectures.
